Arc appoints new CFO as part of strategic growth plans

Arc has appointed a new CFO to its top team to add strategic “experience and expertise” to its growth plans.

Claire Corbett takes on the post following several high-profile roles in the industry, having most recently been in the same position for Informa Markets’ EMEA division.

Arc appoints new group CFO

Global events, data and media firm Arc has announced a new group CFO.

Claire Corbett will join the company’s top leadership team to drive growth and succeed Andy Crow, who will continue to work in an advisory capacity.

She has more than 20 years of industry experience and is the outgoing CFO of Informa Markets’ EMEA division.

Simon Foster, group CEO, said: “Claire‘s extensive B2B media and M&A experience and expertise in strategic planning will be invaluable as we continue our focus on organic growth and strategic acquisitions, like our recent acquisitions of Marketing in Partnership and Low Carbon Agriculture.”

Claire added: “Having previously worked with Simon, I know that this network is built on a genuine desire to serve communities, to help improve the businesses of people in those communities.

“The concept of the network, the focus on acquisitions in responsible sectors, and teams truly embedded in their communities, is changing the landscape of our industry.”

Claire has also donned several key financial leadership roles in All3Media, UBM plc and also worked with the UK Competition and Markets Authority.

Strong showing for UFI Europe events

UFI has successfully concluded its European chapter of events, with the participation of more than 300 delegates.

The association’s event week in Maastricht, the Netherlands saw exhibition industry professionals converge for a series of events including:

  • The UFI European Conference
  • HR and Operations & Services Forums
  • The Event Directors Summit
  • The European Chapter meeting

Nick Dugdale-Moore, UFI Regional Director for Europe, said: “We are extremely grateful to the whole city of Maastricht – from the Mayor and the Director of the Province, to our friends at MECC – for welcoming us with open arms.

“Our delegates were able to experience the best that Maastricht has to offer and will take away many fond memories and new contacts.”

Children’s fashion fair to debut in New York next year

A new international fashion fair for youngsters is set to launch in New York.

Children’s Show will debut in Manhattan on February 11 and 12.

The event aims to connect childrenswear suppliers in different categories with buyers from high-end boutiques and major department stores across the US.

Virginia Zingone, show creator, said: “A show for children, since its name, anticipates the rich proposal of its offer and its goal is to express children´s fashion in all its aspects declinations, including lifestyle and maternity, inseparable categories in most family concept stores.”

Alberto Scaccioni, contact partner for the participation of Italian companies, said: “Today, wholesale distribution, with its widespread diffusion, is of fundamental importance for small and medium-sized Italian fashion companies.

“In this sense, trade shows and trade appointments are essential tools to effectively grow an interesting, but at the same time complex, market like the American one.”

A total of 60 leading companies from 12 countries are expected to participate in the tradeshow, organised by Igeco USA, the US branch of Deutsche Messe AG and Italian Exhibition Group SpA.
