Challenges faced by the organisers

The success of the PGA 2021 Merchandise Show prompted organisers to launch a year-round hybrid experience to connect and strengthen the global golf community. PGA Show Connects was envisioned as an extension of the PGA Show, with regular webinars, educational content, and seasonal events planned throughout 2021, leading to the return of the flagship in-person show in 2022. To support this 365 experience, the organisers had to manage a robust marketplace of new and returning exhibitors, as well as provide industry networking and educational content to the attendees.

 

Additionally, the PGA Show Buying & Education Summit was added to the schedule to provide PGA professionals and golf buyers with focused face-to-face business interactions, education workshops, and networking opportunities. A strong on-site hosted buyer programme, as well as registration, badging, and check-in services, were necessary for this initiative.

Our Solution

The organisers were previously familiar with our platform's all-in-one capabilities. Their desire to extend the virtual experience throughout the year complimented our company's vision. Together, we devised a strategy for utilising their existing set-up to host PGA Connect meetings while also adding more robust functionality.
The show team had collaborated with RepSpark to provide exhibitors with product and service catalogues. Our product team ensured that these catalogues were seamlessly integrated into the exhibitor showroom, allowing buyers to not only source but also purchase products. We also added additional elements such as instant meetings, improved calendar functionality, and leaderboards to support the 365 strategy.

The results

With readily available content, digital business sourcing, and professional networking programs, PGA Show Connects is successfully fostering an interactive virtual community. The PGA Show Buying & Education Summit facilitated one-on-one meetings between PGA Professionals and golf purchasers, as well as open exhibitor line shows and live education programmes. This 365 strategy has offered a perfect mix of virtual and in-person interactions in the PGA golf community, which was earlier limited to annual live shows only.
