Challenges faced by the organisers
The move to shift the show to a virtual format over the safety concerns posed by the outbreak prompted a series of challenges. Replicating the live experience on an easy-to-use event platform and provide unparalleled online engagement was one of the main agenda of the show. To achieve this, the organisers planned to build an online marketplace to showcase exhibitor’s products and solutions.
The event is also renowned for its industry programming that includes industry presentations and educational sessions. Engaging a global audience with such readily available content and networking opportunities to interaction in these sessions coaxed the organisers to look for a robust event platform.
The results
The Virtual PGA show was successful in engaging over 12,000 attendees from 78 countries, including 6,500 PGA Professionals and 400 international golf brands. The online also marketplace proved to be a great success and extended the outreach of the suppliers’ products massively.
