WeCosmoprof is the first-ever digital event from the organisers of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna – “the world's leading trade fair for the entire perfumery & cosmetics industry”. It was instrumental in creating a virtual environment for business opportunities and brought together exhibitors, buyers and beauty professionals from the beauty sector.

Challenges faced by the organisers

Cosmoprof has been a global business facilitator for over 50 years and has provided the perfect physical networking opportunity between supply and demand in the cosmetic industry. However, the Covid-19 crisis imposed limits on their initiatives, preventing the organisers from hosting the annual edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna in 2020.

The organisers were looking for an alternative to connect the ‘cosmoprof’ community and support a new way of conducting business in the industry. Taking their event online seemed the most logical step, but to accomplish this, they required a powerful digital platform loaded with capabilities to host over 40,000 attendees. Additionally, they needed tools for connecting these attendees, engaging them with sessions and live webinars, and creating right business opportunities.

Our Solution

We’re in discussions with the Cosmoprof’s team for the originally scheduled Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2020, when the crisis hit us. After mitigation efforts, we sat down together to discuss the concept of their first-ever digital event.
Together, we deciphered the integrities of replicating a physical event experience on a digital platform. These conversations helped us in revamping our own online meetings and sessions platform to suit their needs and add new features to ensure a two-way interaction amongst attendees.
