JCK Virtual is the first-ever virtual edition of the annual JCK Las Vegas and Luxury Shows by JCK events. Hailed as the largest gathering of the global jewellry and watch industry, this online event brought together exhibitors, qualified buyers and professionals to meet, learn and network for knowledge sharing and business opportunities.

Challenges faced by the organisers

Traditionally held in-person for the international jewellery and watch community, the JCK Las Vegas and Luxury by JCK events were cancelled by Reed Exhibitions due to the risks posed by COVID-19. The organisers planned to create a stand-in virtual edition of these events, but faced the complicated task of recreating a similar experience in the digital space.

The first challenge was to replicate the live event experience where tangible interactions with exhibitor goods were a critical engagement factor. They already had a virtual immersive technology in place and were looking for an event technology solution that had the desired functionality and features to showcase industry products in an interactive manner. The annual JCK events were also popular for their ‘JCK Talks education program’, a knowledge sharing program through which attendees could gain key insights and learnings from industry experts. It was essential to provide a similar experience in the virtual format as well.

Our Solution

The organiser's top priority for JCK Virtual was to provide an interactive online environment that would mirror the experience of a live trade show and allow participants to browse a varied mix of products and exhibitors. They wanted to integrate their virtual immersive technology with a robust digital event platform and ExpoPlatform proved to be the perfect foil to help them transition smoothly to the online space.
After a series of discussions to assess the exact needs for the event, the ExpoPlatform team ran several combinations of their modular solutions to find the best fit. This included the newly designed online session and meeting rooms for the event audience with more engaging features to enhance their virtual experience.

The results

The five-day virtual event was greatly successful in engaging the participants throughout the course of the event - whether they were visiting virtual showrooms, attending sessions or exploring the exhibitor and product directories. The JCK Virtual educational program was also a big hit amongst the jewellery professionals.
