GITEX Global (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition) is the world’s largest tech showcase highlighting the latest trends, innovations and advancements in AI, cybersecurity, mobility, sustainable tech and more.

The 43rd edition of the event, themed ‘AI in everything’ was hosted across 41 exhibition halls at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Around 187,000 attendees and 6,000 exhibitors participated in the show, including leading innovators, tech-preneurs and industry leaders from around the globe.

ExpoPlatform worked with the organiser to create an all-in-one smart event platform with advanced features to set up hosted buyer meetings, drive quality engagement and maximise lead generation.

Powering connections with next-gen tools

This was the third consecutive time ExpoPlatform provided event tech solutions for GITEX GLOBAL – and the aim was to provide an enhanced, value-driven experience to both visitors and exhibitors.

A key challenge set out by the organisers was that GITEX 2023 would be held across two venues. Not only were the two venues located on opposite sides of Dubai, but the new one also spanned several floors. Native integration and a close partnership with ExpoFP allowed us to provide a unique interactive floorplan and wayfinding.

This meant users could easily locate an exhibitor or a conference room and find their way across two waypoints even if they were located in different venues and required transportation in between.

Smooth integration with multiple vendors was critical to GITEX’s success. Apart from ExpoFP, we also worked closely with our partners InfoSalons for registration and badging and Xporience for exhibitor manual to ensure a seamless show.

Being one of the highlights of GITEX, the concierge meetings programme is also one of the biggest challenges for tech. Thousands of meetings are pre-arranged through a dedicated concierge team. The agenda is often updated and rescheduled during the show days, which requires constant communication with both parties.

To deliver such a dynamic meetings programme, we provided advanced hosted buyer tools to arrange, communicate and navigate these meetups.

ExpoPlatform also offered a daily deep dive into performance for organiser analysis of team and meetings programme success.

Supercharging meetings and leads to record highs

One of the biggest success areas of GITEX 2023 was the concierge meetings programme for investors.

Through email, push notifications, calendar sync and agenda download features, we helped the DWTC team successfully deliver a record-breaking 12,000+ highly curated meetings.

Our platform enabled DWTC to create a highly customised event management experience for themselves – as well as unique, tailored journeys for their customers.

With nearly 60,000 GITEX Plus app downloads, attendees could experience the show at their fingertips.

This meant easily accessing sessions, exhibitors, products and attendees – powered by AI recommendations and extensive filters – to make the most of their time and get maximum value from GITEX.

Another major highlight of the show was the in-app digital badge scanning and lead retrieval – which resulted in an astonishing 698k+ unique lead scans, helping exhibitors streamline their sales pipeline and drive up their ROI.

In addition, our API integration with ExpoFP, InfoSalons and Xporience drove seamless end-to-end data flows across the online event platform.

This ensured smooth communication and alignment between stakeholders, despite tens of thousands of attendees registering onsite every day.
