HKTB and Informa enter a strategic partnership to bring a premium exhibition portfolio to Hong Kong

The Hong Kong Tourist Board and Informa Markets have signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding.

This partnership comes as part of a wider MICE initiative to bring more diverse, global events to the region – it is a vital step in Asia’s first-ever ‘city-as-your-showroom’ concept.

It will see Informa bring a portfolio of premium international exhibition IPs to Hong Kong.

Peter Lam, chairman of HKTB, said: “This partnership is of great significance.

“It not only elevates Hong Kong’s position as a premier global destination for high-end MICE tourism, but also affirms the city’s vital role as a ‘super-connector’ and a ‘super value-adder’ between the Chinese Mainland and the world.”

HKTB hopes this will attract more high-value visitors to the region.

The Festival of Connoisseurs global exhibition platform will serve as the first major event in the partnership.

Its first edition will take place in Hong Kong this year and will continue to develop there at scale until 2028 as per the agreement.

Margaret Ma Connolly, CEO of Informa Markets Asia, said: “The decision to launch The Festival of Connoisseurs here is not simply a commercial one. It is a profound statement of conviction.

“We believe Hong Kong stands as the sovereign gateway between the world’s second largest economy and the global stage, where the Eastern prosperity meets the Western artistry.”
