UFI has express its solidarity with Middle East events community amid military escalations across the region.
The organization has released a statement which sets out the safety and wellbeing of industry professionals is at the top of its minds and of paramount importance.

UFI stands with Middle East events community
UFI has highlighted the importance of international cooperation as it stands in solidarity with the Middle East events community amid military escalation.
US-Israeli strikes and Iranian retaliation have triggered worldwide disruption for a range of industries, with heightened concerns over energy costs and business in the Gulf.
Now UFI has expressed its “sincere hope” for de-escalation and the “paramount” importance of safety of the events community.
A statement from the organization said: “UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, is closely following the recent developments in parts of the Middle East.
“At this challenging time, our thoughts are with all our members, partners and industry professionals across the region.
“The safety and wellbeing of every individual – colleagues, exhibitors, visitors, contractors and communities remain paramount.
“The exhibition industry is built on dialogue, connection and international cooperation. In moments of uncertainty, these values become even more important.
“We stand in solidarity with our members and the wider business events community – and we express our sincere hope for stability and swift de-escalation.”

Messe Munchen and dmg events join forces to bring transport logistic to Saudi Arabia
Messe Munchen and dmg events have entered into a strategic partnership to launch transport logistic Middle East.
The leading trade industry event for logistics, IT supply chain management and mobility will be hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the first time.
It will take place alongside project cargo Middle East and air cargo Middle East – creating a high-level business networking hub for the industry.
Stefan Rummel, CEO of Messe Munchen, said: “Together with dmg events as a strong and experienced partner in the market, we are combining international brand strength with deep regional expertise to create a high-level platform for decision-makers and sustainable business growth for both exhibitors and visitors.”
The launch of transport logistic Middle East will support the rapid growth of the logistics ecosystem within the region.
Saudi Arabia’s market alone is expected to grow from $136.3 billion in 2024 to $198.9 billion by 2030.
The trade show will provide opportunities for industry leaders and key decision makers from across the Middle East.
RX appoints its first ever global CMO
Leading global event organizer RX has announced the creation of a new executive role.
Alison Powell has been appointed as the company’s first global chief marketing officer.
She will focus on RX’s global marketing capabilities – increasing customer value, driving growth and ensuring long-term enterprise performance.
Alison said: “I’m thrilled to be joining RX at such a pivotal moment.
“The company’s focus on innovation, customer value, and operational excellence is truly inspiring and I look forward to working with colleagues around the world to elevate our marketing impact and help unlock the next chapter of growth for RX’s brands, exhibitors and visitors.”
Alison has over 20 years of senior global B2B and B2C marketing expertise that she will bring to the role.
This experience comes from world-class organizations including – Kellogg’s, BP, AstraZeneca and most recently Elsevier Health.
RX looks to take advantage of Alison’s proven ability to shape and implement global marketing transformation through data-driven strategies.
Messe Dusseldorf has reconstituted its supervisory board to streamline future decision-making
Dusseldorf Congress GmbH has strategically repositioned its supervisory board in an effort to speed up key decision-making processes and defining top priorities.
Bernhard Stempfle has been elected as chairman of the board, while Christian Zaum has been appointed as deputy chair.
This will move was made in an effort to balance corporate trade show expertise with economic competence.
Bernhard, managing director for finance and infrastructure at Messe Dusseldorf, said: “The new supervisory board sends a clear signal: Dusseldorf’s trade fair and congress sector and the City work in close partnership.
“They reinforce one another and jointly support Dusseldorf’s economy.”
Alongside the repositioning of the supervisory board – Maria Kofidou’s contract as managing director has been extended.
She will now continue her role with the company for a further five years.
Messe Dusseldorf sees this as confirming its commitment to its long-term strategic direction.
