MRO Americas plants 1,000 trees through ExpoPlatform scheme
MRO Americas has helped to plant 1,000 trees to offset carbon emissions as part of an ExpoPlatform sustainable events initiative.
The Meetings Make Trees green scheme is an ExpoPlatform project which aims to reduce the impact of pollution generated by in-person shows.
Under the sustainable events initiative, we provide the technology and data to facilitate participation and then coordinate tree planting through tie-ups with our eco-partners.
Organizers agree on a target of meetings booked through the platform which will result in a certain number being planted.
A total of 1,000 trees have now been put to soil in the US as a result of engagement through the MRO Americas event app, with ExpoPlatform and the organizer Aviation Week splitting the funding.
Mark Thomas, Marketing Director at Aviation Week Network, said: “Aviation Week Network, along with our parent company Informa, is committed to delivering the most sustainable event possible, so this is a great initiative by ExpoPlatform to reward our attendee engagement with a sustainable incentive.”
Tanya Pinchuk, CEO of ExpoPlatform, said: “I’m thrilled to see the roots of our Meetings Make Trees initiative taking hold.
“This project helps both organizers and us as a technology provider leave a positive mark on the planet, but also nurtures a greener future for all.
“Together, we can grow a more sustainable world, one meeting at a time.”
Organizers who take part in the Meetings Make Trees sustainable events initiative pay for the saplings to be planted, with ExpoPlatform also contributing to the number.
Saplings are usually planted in the country where the show takes place but it can also be wherever the planner prefers.
MRO Americas 2024 – organized by Aviation Week as part of Informa Markets – brought together more than 16,000 aviation aftermarket professionals to showcase innovations, discuss trends and collaborate for business opportunities.
It is a prominent aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul event that connects industry professionals, experts and suppliers from around the world.
Key ExpoPlatform features include a smart mobile app, AI-powered matchmaking, messaging, meeting scheduling, interactive floorplan and a lead retrieval solution which increases exhibitor ROI at least three-fold compared with traditional approaches.
These digital offerings can be translated into 12 languages, with high levels of accessibility across the globe.
Other ExpoPlatform solutions include registration, 365 Community, hosted buyer management and more.
Many of these allow events to go paperless so organizers can make their events sustainable and work towards Net Zero while also improving attendee experiences.
